What we store, what is essential, and how to accept or reject everything else.
This policy explains how si-lock.com uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage). It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. EU ePrivacy rules (Directive 2002/58/EC, as transposed in Malta) and equivalent laws elsewhere generally require consent for non-essential cookies; essential cookies needed to deliver a secure service may run without consent.
1. Your choices
On first visit you will see a banner with:
- Accept all — essential + functional + analytics (open counters).
- Reject non-essential — essential only. Same prominence as accept.
- Manage preferences — toggle categories and save.

3. Technologies in detail
3.1 First-party (si-lock.com / VF Empire)
vf_consent(cookie) +vf_consent_v1(localStorage) — stores your accept/reject/custom choice (essential).silock_visited(sessionStorage) — prevents double-counting a visit in one browser session (analytics category).silock_metrics(cookie / localStorage) — a random first-party identifier set only after you consent to analytics. It links page views and on-site searches into one anonymous journey so we can see what visitors look for and improve the experience. Held on our own EU infrastructure; never shared with ad networks (analytics category).silock_interested(localStorage) — remembers you tapped “I’m interested” (functional category).- Lead form submissions send the data you enter to our intake API when you choose to apply (see Privacy Policy).
3.2 Cloudflare (hosting / CDN / security)
We host on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may set essential cookies or similar technologies for security, bot mitigation, and network delivery (for example cookies commonly associated with Cloudflare security). These are controlled by Cloudflare as our processor / infrastructure provider. See Cloudflare’s cookie policy.
3.3 Fonts
Pages may load typefaces from Google Fonts, which can involve a connection to Google’s servers when the stylesheet is fetched; where fonts are self-hosted on si-lock.com, no third-party connection occurs. If fonts fail to load, the site works with system fonts as fallbacks.
4. What we do not do
- No third-party advertising pixels or retargeting networks on this site today.
- No selling of personal data.
- All analytics are first-party and consent-based — no third-party analytics suite, no ad pixels, no selling of the data we collect.
5. Retention
- Consent cookie / storage: up to 12 months, then you will be asked again.
- Session visit flag: ends when the browser session ends.
- Interest flag: until you clear site data or we change the key.
- Analytics events (page views, on-site searches, arrival search terms): raw events for up to 13 months, then aggregated or deleted.
- Server-side pulse aggregates: operational counters on our intake service (see Privacy Policy).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, erasure, objection, and to withdraw consent. Withdraw consent via Manage cookie preferences on this page, or by emailing info@vfempire.com. You may also complain to your supervisory authority — in Malta, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies change. The effective date above will move; material changes may be highlighted on this page.
